What is Neuromodulation?

If previous treatments have not achieved the desired results, neuromodulation may open up new possibilities

A gentle form of brain stimulation

Neuromodulation is a medical therapy that regulates the activity of specific brain regions through targeted, non-invasive electrical or magnetic stimulation. These gentle impulses influence neural circuits that may be out of balance in various neurological or mental health conditions.

Unlike medications, which act systemically throughout the body, neuromodulation enables a precise, localized treatment approach. The therapy is painless, requires no surgery, and can be performed on an outpatient basis.

During treatment, you actively engage in therapeutic activities—such as practicing movement patterns, cognitive exercises, or other rehabilitation tasks—while neuromodulation provides targeted support. At LITARA® Healing, we use neuromodulation as an integral part of a holistic treatment concept, combining it with our other regenerative therapies to create synergistic effects.

Who Can Benefit from Neuromodulation?

Neuromodulation can be particularly valuable when previous treatment approaches have not provided sufficient relief, or when you are seeking a medication-free or complementary form of therapy. Many of our patients come to us after having explored various options—and find new hope through neuromodulation.

The therapy is successfully used for chronic pain conditions, depression, anxiety disorders, migraines, sleep disorders, cognitive impairments, neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease or after stroke, as well as chronic fatigue and burnout.

In a detailed initial consultation, we evaluate together whether neuromodulation is suitable for your specific situation. We take the time to understand your medical history and to develop an individualized treatment plan.

Our neuromodulation technologies

State-of-the-art, scientifically based methods for precise neurological treatments

tDCS – transcranial direct current stimulation

In tDCS, weak direct electrical currents are applied to the scalp via electrodes. These gentle impulses influence the neuronal excitability of targeted brain regions—the anode increases activity, while the cathode reduces it.

taVNS – transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation

taVNS gently stimulates the vagus nerve via a specialized electrode placed on the ear. The vagus nerve is a key connection between the brain and the body and plays an important role in regulating mood, stress, inflammation, and many autonomic bodily functions.

CES – cranial electrotherapy stimulation

CES delivers weak electrical microstimulation via electrodes placed on the earlobes. These gentle impulses act on the limbic system and the hypothalamus and promote the production of alpha brain waves, which are associated with relaxation and inner calm.

Indications

Neuromodulation can provide supportive benefits for a wide range of neurological and mental health conditions.

Memory disorders

Improvement of memory performance and cognitive function through targeted neural stimulation

Alzheimer’s disease

Slowing of disease progression and preservation of cognitive function through deep brain stimulation

Support of motor function and improvement of movement patterns

ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis)

Supportive therapy to help maintain neurological function and improve quality of life.

Low mood & emotional imbalances

Regulation of limbic system activity for emotional stability and inner balance.

ADHD (attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder)

Promotion of attention, impulse control, and executive functions

Concentration difficulties

Improvement of cognitive performance and mental clarity

After-effects of stroke

Support of neurological recovery and motor rehabilitation

Sleep disorders

Promotion of natural sleep rhythms through regulation of relevant neurotransmitter systems.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)

Support for social interaction, communication, and sensory processing

Movement disorders

Regulation of motor control and improvement of movement coordination

Chronic pain

Modulation of pain perception in the brain and reduction of pain intensity

Digestive disorders

Regulation of the gut-brain axis through vagus nerve stimulation to support improved digestive function

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)

Modulation of autonomic functions to relieve symptoms and improve quality of life

Migraine

Regulation of cortical excitability and reduction of the frequency and intensity of attacks

Your path to neuromodulation therapy

From the initial consultation to individualized treatment – we accompany you every step of the way

Initial consultation & medical history assessment

In a detailed medical consultation, we assess your medical history, current symptoms, and previous treatments. We take the time to understand your individual situation

Diagnostics & evaluation

We conduct a comprehensive neurological evaluation. If necessary, this is supplemented with neurophysiological tests to precisely identify the affected brain regions.

Individual treatment plan

Based on the findings, we develop your personalized neuromodulation protocol. We select the appropriate technologies, define the treatment frequency and duration, and discuss all details with you.

Treatment implementation

The therapy takes place in our calm, professionally designed treatment rooms. A session typically lasts 30–60 minutes. During the application, you actively perform therapeutic exercises - such as movement patterns, cognitive tasks, or other activities that are specifically supported by neuromodulation.

Home training & progress monitoring

After a detailed introduction to the use of the devices, you continue the treatment at home – for intensive training. In regular follow-up appointments, we accompany you, evaluate your progress, and adjust the protocol if necessary. Many patients notice improvements after just a few weeks of consistent training.

Neuromodulation as part of a holistic concept

At LITARA® Healing, we understand neuromodulation as a valuable component within a comprehensive therapeutic approach. Its effectiveness can be significantly enhanced when combined with other treatments.

A particularly synergistic effect is achieved in combination with infusion therapy – while neuromodulation regulates neuronal function, we simultaneously supply your nervous system with essential nutrients, amino acids, and antioxidants. The combination with ozone therapy to improve cerebral circulation or with me2.vie® for cellular regeneration can also potentiate therapeutic effects.

We develop an individually tailored treatment concept for each patient—aligned with your specific condition, your life circumstances, and your therapeutic goals.
