HIFEM Technology

Non-invasive electromagnetic muscle stimulation

The Procedure

The electromagnetic pelvic floor therapy uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic fields (HIFEM) to induce deep muscle contractions in the pelvic floor muscles. At LITARA® Healing, we use the Power Chair for this treatment. During a session of under 30 minutes, the technology induces more than 15,000 muscle contractions.

The electromagnetic field penetrates deep into the pelvic floor tissue and activates the muscles evenly. This form of stimulation differs from conventional exercises through the intensity and consistency of muscle activation. The treatment leads to reconditioning of the pelvic floor muscles and improves neuromuscular control.

Many patients report noticeable improvements after approximately five treatments. The procedure is non-invasive and completely painless. You remain fully clothed while seated, as the electromagnetic field works in a targeted manner.

Course of Treatment

The Treatment

During Treatment

The treatment is performed while wearing comfortable everyday clothing. You take a seat, and the electromagnetic stimulation is gradually adjusted to your individual tolerance level. The intensity and frequency of the electromagnetic impulses are continuously modulated during the session to ensure optimal muscle activation.

Most patients find the treatment pleasant. The sensation of rhythmic muscle contractions is noticeable but not uncomfortable. You remain in control of the intensity at all times. During the session, you can relax, read, or have a conversation.

No special preparation or recovery time is required. You can resume your normal activities immediately afterward. In the hours following the treatment, a mild muscle sensation may occur, similar to that after physical exercise.
